Pluto resides in my 5th house (Nati) of creativity and self-expression. The difficulties I experience in freely expressing myself are my burden to bear. However, for a short period and at a very well-timed point in my life I am lent the free-flowing power of Neptune in Aquarius. This harmonic transit comes at a time when I need self-evaluation the most, and I’m finding this to be absolutely invaluable as I stare down the barrel of some very difficult transits coming in the near future. Thank you Neptune!

Today the Sun enters Aquarius to join Neptune and Venus. Already since Monday I’ve been getting some very heady and mind-expanding ideas about some things I’ve had a history of being a jealous Scorpion about. Venus in Aquarius is about loving as you will. Enjoying yourself as you will. Sun in Aquarius is about love of experience, knowledge, the collective, expansion, and abstract thought. Humanist in nature, however the negative aspects tend towards a a sense of detachment possibly to the extent of hypocrisy or perversity.

The sun is strongly conjunct Venus today (the strongest conjunct we’ll see in Aquarius this year) however the connection is not as strong as the Capricorn transit earlier this month. You may feel a lot of that Aquarian energy flowing through you the next couple of days. I’m trying to appreciate this easy-going feeling. Translation: happiness! Because I’m sure to wish I could draw upon it when we hit that next Saturn/Pluto square at the end of the month. Love yourself today, make it an early Valentine’s day just for you. How’s that for a Neptune in Aquarius idea?

So to me, this eclipse is signifying a Plutonian effect on my home and family house. A hard square, right in my Libra zone, right on top of my Saturn Return.

As you can guess I’m facing some day-to-day difficulty that I’m slightly bitter about. But I’m beginning to see this Saturn Return take shape, and it isn’t all bad (of course…like I’ve been told). However, we learn best through trial and error and there are certainly a lot of errors that were made…and those are coming to light.

These are notions I can handle. The Pluto square eclipse makes me nervous, just as any Pluto idea makes me nervous at the moment. Mercury moving direct this week activates what Robert Wilkinson calls “The Grand Irrationality”, or the current Pluto/Neptune situation. At the moment, it’s quite certainly septile (considered an “irrational” aspect in of itself). However, there are strong conjuncts with both planets to Jupiter and (currently) Mercury. Jupiter is poised to enter Aquarius, to make things quite heady, and Mercury is fogging up the eclipse with it’s void state. So here you have a Grand Irrationality.

Right about when I’m begging for some certainty. Game on, life.

On the natal front, the Sun/Venus conjunct is squaring my natal Jupiter in Libra. Yes, Libra again. However, an interesting and powerful Uranus aspect is forming, Uranus in Pisces is trine my natal Uranus on the Scorpio/Sagittarius cusp. So until later in the year when Uranus stations retrograde, the Uranus effect on the current reformation of my life should proceed with greater ease. Maybe some greater personal innovation is in store. There’s usually a silver lining, yes?

There have been quite a few changes in my life lately, a period of Venus/Uranus and Saturnine activity. However, I’m ready to approach the new year with a fresh start and a renewed sense of self.

This take-charge approach is enhances by a Sun/Mars trine in Sagg/Leo, but runs into difficulty given the opposition to Jupiter in Aquarius. On the personal front the Sun (although in trine with Mar’s current position) is squaring my natal Mars in Virgo. The stress of all this change is getting to me, and the need to arrange the chaos into some semblance of order is causing me to shut down.

I cannot wait until the transit of Jupiter squaring my natal Saturn is over. I realize now where my life has reached the point of excess and needs to be trimmed back, simplified, and let loose. Here’s to the coming new year!

Be ready for unstable conditions and last minute changes. This could be a time when the usual rules are suspended and anything goes, or it could be a time of emotional excitement, wide mood swings, disturbances in sleeping, and strange psychic tendencies. So to be open about what I’ve been thus far extremely vague about: my boyfriend and I are going through some issues and may go our separate ways. I hate to think that this relationship would be one of the first victims of my Saturn Return, but it looks like that’s the situation.

I’ve gone through a myriad of complex emotions in the last few weeks, but today I finally woke up with a sense of peace. Nothing about the difficult situation changed overnight, just my mood.

There are some positive transits playing a role in this: namely my Solar Return (hooray me!), but also a Venus/n. Mercury conjunct assisting me in doing what my Gemini Rising does best: talk about my relationship and what is important to me. So here’s to growing and changing with Saturn in Libra.

Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Gemini

As yesterday we have the bright, clever, sociable Gemini Moon combined with the deeply insightful but more secretive Scorpio Sun. On the surface they don’t really want the same things, but they can work together to use one another’s strengths – the potential is for brilliant wit with penetrating insight, the Gemini Moon providing a “socially acceptable face” to bring through Scorpio’s intensity. There’s also, much potential for clever-sounding, witty, but deeply cutting remarks that feel good (Moon) at the time, but will be regretted later. Definitely watch the tongue today, especially as the Gemini Moon trines both Jupiter and Chiron and so may “say too much.”

I know i’ve been silent lately, but i’m going through a lot of things that i’m sure will be popping up again and again throughout my Saturn Return. As you know, Saturn entered Libra and those of us with natal Saturn in this sign are beginning our Return.

I expected to process this more using this blog, but I’ve been feeling a bit bottled up. Maybe with some time after Saturn’s been on the threshold for a while I will be able to really talk about the feelings associated with this transit and the particular areas of effect.

But for now! I think we need to do some celebrating because it’s my favorite holiday! Remember those you miss dearly. Scorpio rules this season: blessings for your Samhain, blessings for your New Year!

Happy Scorpio! Use this time to plumb the depths of your subconscious, of your unconscious, of the collective unconscious and collective mind. For all those with Saturn in Libra, starting to feel their Saturn returns; congratulations and welcome to your Saturn return sign. My Saturn is in Scorpio, but only barely; I think this means my Saturn return will sneak up and bite me in the ass, whereas if it were late Libra I would now have the next two and a half years to prepare.

I used to make guesses as to what would be affected in my life when it came to the first great return of Saturn. I was actually relieved by Libra, as it’s such a heady and harmonious sign that I thought well maybe it won’t be so bad.

Libra is the sign of Relationships and Marriage. I have Saturn in Libra conjunct Pluto and Jupiter and Ceres. Astrologically, it sounds like the next two years aren’t going to bring me a lot of comfort when it comes to a relationship.

Saturn will tell us what we can live without. During the return, anything that necessary for growth will be removed. I’m beginning to feel it now. It’s going to be a long return.

Here’s a little preview of the week ahead: Venus sextiles Mars and conjuncts Saturn on Tuesday (PDT), then enters Libra on Wednesday afternoon, promptly running into a square with Pluto that’s exact Thursday morning at 10:51 PDT. Mars’ entry to Leo on Friday is also accompanied by a Solar quincunx to Uranus and trine to Neptune the same day. On Sunday Mars also forms a quincunx to Pluto, on the same day that the Moon enters the sign ruled by these two planets, Scorpio. Holy crap, that’s a lot of energy in one week!

I’m dealing by staying busy, and getting things that need to get done, done. I’m reeling a bit from some recent news (very good!) about an upcoming event, and the associated astrology, which is a bit too much for me to believe right now. Of course, I’m seeing in it what I want to see; the Universe will unfold however it sees fit. My job now – and our job in general with astrology – is to take the opportunity the Universe is providing and make the best of it.

There is a lot of theory and information about the 7 year cycle.

As my 28th birthday approaches, I’m reaching the end of one of my own 7 year cycles, and I’m just as of this morning learning the significance of progressions. I think it’s about time I picked up and started reading that Predictive Astrology book I got, as it appears that I need to learn a little something about my Lunar Progression as it got real relevant real fast.

That’s what this is about though right? A learning process! I’m excited about this because I’m about to go on a little fall vacation and I’ll have some time to read about this and see if it strikes a chord with me.

I like to believe in the 7 year cycle. I like to think that it has some note of relevance to it. Mostly because I do feel like I’m on the brink of a rather dramatic shift in my life, be it a Saturn Return, a Lunar Progression, or the winding down of a 7 year life cycle. I feel like there’s something that is leaving me soon but I don’t know what it is yet. Something very big. I’m afraid that it will hurt, yes, but I’m also certain that is a new beginning that will follow.
