Brigid in Aquarius

if you’re looking for relief from the long winter season you have something to look forward to because February 1st is the traditional celebration of the milk festival known as Imbolc or Oimelc.

This festival celebrates the coming of the nursing season for sheep, an indication of the coming spring. In the wheel of the year, Imbolc is a cross-quarter day indicating the position of the sun as approximately 15 degrees in Aquarius. This is considered the astronomical mid-winter, so good…into the home stretch.

Symbolically, the youthful goddess Brigid is the crone transformed from her dark slumber that she endured when the sun entered into Scorpio. She is renewed, energized and ready to begin the new circle of life during this seasonal celebration.

Combined with the Mercurial direct station should indicate some great energy for new projects and refreshing sense of direction and connection. Aquarius is lively in spirit and the sun is in midst this sign of intellectual awakening. Does that translate to an urge to do some spring cleaning? (Maybe not at my house quite yet)

Here’s a bit more reading on Imbolc.
