Samhain

Whatever you believe, today is a good day to remember those who have passed on.

I know i’ve been silent lately, but i’m going through a lot of things that i’m sure will be popping up again and again throughout my Saturn Return. As you know, Saturn entered Libra and those of us with natal Saturn in this sign are beginning our Return.

I expected to process this more using this blog, but I’ve been feeling a bit bottled up. Maybe with some time after Saturn’s been on the threshold for a while I will be able to really talk about the feelings associated with this transit and the particular areas of effect.

But for now! I think we need to do some celebrating because it’s my favorite holiday! Remember those you miss dearly. Scorpio rules this season: blessings for your Samhain, blessings for your New Year!

Sun in Scorpio

Posted in Scorpio, Sun on 10/23/2009 by ananda silvermoon

Welcome to the sun in Scorpio! the fall is upon us, we have already felt this. but this morning, the sun slipped from Libra into Scorpio and the darker, moodier, more perceptive energy is already upon us. I know I can feel it.

Happy Scorpio! Use this time to plumb the depths of your subconscious, of your unconscious, of the collective unconscious and collective mind. Use this time to make sure your home and hearth are in order for the coming winter. Scorpio is the sign of “I want” or “I need” (as opposed to Taurus which is the sign of “I have”) and we can use this time to set our sights on what we need to survive the upcoming winter.

For all those with Saturn in Libra, starting to feel their Saturn returns; congratulations and welcome to your Saturn return sign. My Saturn is in Scorpio, but only barely; I think this means my Saturn return will sneak up and bite me in the ass, whereas if it were late Libra I would now have the next two and a half years to prepare.

Halloween is almost here! enjoy the thinning of the veil and use this opportunity to communicate with the world beyond.

Saturn in Libra

Posted in Libra, Saturn on 10/23/2009 by nemain nyx

Saturn is on the threshold of Libra, the sign of my (and those of my age) Saturn Return.

I used to make guesses as to what would be affected in my life when it came to the first great return of Saturn. I was actually relieved by Libra, as it’s such a heady and harmonious sign that I thought well maybe it won’t be so bad.

Libra is the sign of Relationships and Marriage. I have Saturn in Libra conjunct Pluto and Jupiter and Ceres. Astrologically, it sounds like the next two years aren’t going to bring me a lot of comfort when it comes to a relationship.

Saturn will tell us what we can live without. During the return, anything that necessary for growth will be removed. I’m beginning to feel it now. It’s going to be a long return.

Jupiter Goes Direct!

Happy Jupiter Direct, everyone! The planet of luck stationed direct just a few minutes ago at 17+ Aquarius.

Sorry things are kinda quiet around here; Nyx is traveling, and I’m overwhelmed with other stuff. Here’s Astrolabe’s interpretation of how my life is going right now:

Jupiter is Square your Moon applying with an orb of 01 degrees XX minutes.
Too much is happening! You may find yourself reacting to emotionally charged situations involving females now. There may also be some conflicts of opinion over differing judgments. You may need to adapt to extravagant or wasteful situations (often in public) and make important judgment calls. Be reasonable in your expectations about others, family matters, and real estate. Be honest with yourself about obligations. Don’t expect the world to do everything for you, and you don’t have to be everyone else’s protector.

Well, it’s right about the too much is happening part anyway. Here’s a little preview of the week ahead: Venus sextiles Mars and conjuncts Saturn on Tuesday (PDT), then enters Libra on Wednesday afternoon, promptly running into a square with Pluto that’s exact Thursday morning at 10:51 PDT. Mars’ entry to Leo on Friday is also accompanied by a Solar quincunx to Uranus and trine to Neptune the same day. On Sunday Mars also forms a quincunx to Pluto, on the same day that the Moon enters the sign ruled by these two planets, Scorpio. Holy crap, that’s a lot of energy in one week!

I’m dealing by staying busy, and getting things that need to get done, done. I’m reeling a bit from some recent news (very good!) about an upcoming event, and the associated astrology, which is a bit too much for me to believe right now. Of course, I’m seeing in it what I want to see; the Universe will unfold however it sees fit. My job now – and our job in general with astrology – is to take the opportunity the Universe is providing and make the best of it.

Progressions, Saturn’s Return, and the 7 Year Cycle

Posted in Astrology Links, Luna, Recommended Reading, Saturn on 10/06/2009 by nemain nyx

Aquarius Papers has a great couple posts this morning on the connection between the Progressed Moon and the Saturn Return. And as I was reading how Wilkenson links these shifts and the Uranus cycle to the phenomenon knows as the 7 year cycle, I began to realize that I have some reading to do.

There is a lot of theory and information about the 7 year cycle.

As my 28th birthday approaches, I’m reaching the end of one of my own 7 year cycles, and I’m just as of this morning learning the significance of progressions. I think it’s about time I picked up and started reading that Predictive Astrology book I got, as it appears that I need to learn a little something about my Lunar Progression as it got real relevant real fast.

That’s what this is about though right? A learning process! I’m excited about this because I’m about to go on a little fall vacation and I’ll have some time to read about this and see if it strikes a chord with me.

I like to believe in the 7 year cycle. I like to think that it has some note of relevance to it. Mostly because I do feel like I’m on the brink of a rather dramatic shift in my life, be it a Saturn Return, a Lunar Progression, or the winding down of a 7 year life cycle. I feel like there’s something that is leaving me soon but I don’t know what it is yet. Something very big. I’m afraid that it will hurt, yes, but I’m also certain that is a new beginning that will follow.

Welcome to October: Mercury Conjuncts Saturn in Opposition to Uranus

Posted in Luna, Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Venus, Virgo, Wheel of the Year on 10/01/2009 by nemain nyx

I’m a fan of autumn and the waning light, because I like all things spooky and mysterious. There’s no spookier setting than the dying season!

Coming up this weekend is a big powerful full moon in Aries, just at the height of night on Sunday. October also brings us a Mercurial conjunct with Saturn and a sense of heaviness to the already bewildering opposition with Uranus. Efforts made during the conjunct will feel burdened or fraught with tension.

We may begin to feel the effects of this transit sooner than later, as Mercury is close to everyone’s center of self. This is a particularly discouraging transit for those who are still reeling from the retrograde period. There may be a re-visitation of some of the issues brought up during that phase, or you may find yourself dwelling on things affected by the Uranus/Saturn upheaval.

This transit will be followed shortly by a transit of this same energy but the effects will be felt in our pleasure center. That sounded kind of naughty, but I’m talking about Venus. Right after we’ve gotten over our dwelling on the issues, we’re going to start seeing it affect our comfort zones in the physical realm. As this is going down under Virgo with an influence of Pisces, by physical this could literally mean your body, as in your gut or intestines, or it could mean your gut as in your gut chakra (your ability to derive or intuit the world around you – your source of personal strength). This could cause a sense of powerlessness to achieve what you desire. As a Scorpio this freaks me out a bit, as the Scorpio motto is “I desire”.

So there you have it, some kind of unhappy transits for your first day of October. Here are some cute animals! Remember that this is only a slice of what is going on in the universe and the pull of the planets affects everyone differently. All things will pass. I believe that the natal transits will give you more information specifically to you and in combination with the current astroweather, will give you a greater picture of what is flowing about you in your life.
