Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Gemini

From Serennu Astrology:

Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Gemini

As yesterday we have the bright, clever, sociable Gemini Moon combined with the deeply insightful but more secretive Scorpio Sun. On the surface they don’t really want the same things, but they can work together to use one another’s strengths – the potential is for brilliant wit with penetrating insight, the Gemini Moon providing a “socially acceptable face” to bring through Scorpio’s intensity. There’s also, much potential for clever-sounding, witty, but deeply cutting remarks that feel good (Moon) at the time, but will be regretted later. Definitely watch the tongue today, especially as the Gemini Moon trines both Jupiter and Chiron and so may “say too much.”

I think this is a good description of my natal moon and sun!

Libra Moon Void, Big Day Tomorrow

In a few hours the moon will slip into secretive Scorpio, but for now it is void of course in late Libra, having trined the Aquarius stellium earlier today (actually, it was a grand air trine, involving mercury in Gemini as well!). The moon’s entry into Scorpio sets the stage for a big day tomorrow, with both Mercury and Venus forming exact aspects to the Aquarius stellium and to Uranus. This is only intensified by the fact that Mars is only a few degrees behind Venus, so expect whatever happens tomorrow to stick around for a few days.

So this is an interesting pattern that we have, which is exact tomorrow. Mercury is 30 degrees ahead of Venus, which is sextile Uranus and square the Aquarius stellium of Chiron, Neptune and Jupiter. This gives us two squares, two semisextiles, a sextile and a trine. Of course, since two of our four points comprise more than one planet, these aspects are intensified. This gives us something stable, something resonant, but something with direction to it, something pushing or pulling us to action. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s not exactly comfortable either.

What does it all mean? What’s going to happen tomorrow? I have no idea. Nyx is our mythology expert, I’m more like the astronomer. I just know where the planets are at any given time. And if I told you to expect effects on communication, relationships, finances, luck, or dreams, or if I told you to expect the unexpected, well, that would probably cover it. Hardly going out on a limb there. But I have been watching the skies long enough to know that this sort of alignment is rare, but will definitely be interesting; I’m not expecting earthquakes or anything. Though I do think that the big news of the day – Norm Coleman concedes and Al Franken is finally Senator from Minnesota – might have something to do with a certain outer planet – one that is shaping our current events through its opposition to another certain outer planet – stationing retrograde. Which also happens tomorrow, or tonight, depending on your time zone. Yep, not only is Uranus involved in the series of aspects tomorrow, it’s also at its retrograde station. OH – and – !!! – 2009 is officially half over as of tomorrow.

Told you it was a big day tomorrow. Happy July! Namaste!

Oh God Swine Flu

Posted in Chiron, Current Events, Jupiter, Neptune on 05/01/2009 by ananda silvermoon

I was hoping to not even remark on this, since it’s so not really anything to be afraid of, but since it’s all over the dang news I guess we can talk about it. All there is to say has been said, but I’ll repeat it:

Jupiter, planet of inflation, expansion
Chiron, the wounded healer
Neptune, planet of illusions and deception

Being deceived and scared into submission by the media (that’s neptune) with overinflated expectations (jupiter) of global pandemic (chiron). All in conjunction so there is identity, but not awareness, of one another.

I read somewhere (can’t remember where now) that since this stuff has come up, 1 person – a mexican toddler – has died in the US of H1N1 swine flu, but something like 300 people have died in the US of regular flu.

The sun will be coming into square with this triple conjunction toward the middle of this month, prompting some sort of crisis of awareness. That will be about the same time as Mercury transits the sun during his retrograde journey, so I’d be on the lookout for misleading communications and errors of omission (intentional and unintentional). On May 16, overnight into the 17th, the Moon will form a conjunction with this Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron shit, and Mercury will be coming into inferior conjunction with the Sun in square with the N/J/C shit. Additionally, Mars and Venus will be hovering, still in a wide conjunction, around the midpoint of this square, dividing it into two semisquares. Pointy, ouchy, etc.

Anyway, in my opinion, awareness leads to a mitigation of the effects of these type of things, just as being aware of Mercury retrograde can save you all sorts of hassles of miscommunication. So be prepared – not for swine flu, but for everyone else to panic – and be prepared to ride out the next few weeks on some bumpy waves of illusion and pandemic-panic that is grossly distorted and expanded.

Transits to My Natal Mars

Posted in Chiron, Jupiter, Mars, Neptune on 04/13/2009 by ananda silvermoon

nemain’s last post referred to some transits of her natal mars, so i figured i’d chime in with a little about some action that mine is getting right now as well.

mars’ position in my birth chart is at 23 degrees Aquarius. a quick glance at the current astro-weather, and you can see that Neptune has just passed it, and that Jupiter is getting ready to transit it – it will actually cross the point three times this year, twice direct and once in retrograde. this effect is going to be lingering all year, as the Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron conjunction that will be exact later this year is happening *right* there.

jupiter transits to mars’ natal position is supposed to be an excellent opportunity for luck and hard work to combine to enable excellence in athletic and other active pursuits. without knowing that this was the effect of this transit, i have certainly kicked my athletic output up several notches in the last few months, and am currently enjoying my first season as a competitive collegiate athlete. (in the interest of anonymity, i’m not going to say any more than that.) let it be said, though, that i have never considered myself athletic, did not play sports in high school, and have just now, in my early late 20’s, started taking competition seriously, unearthing ambitions and dreams long buried.

i can’t seem to find much on the interwebs about chiron transits to natal mars – info on chiron in general is kinda sketchy, considering we’ve only known about it for about 30 years – but i have been reading about neptune and jupiter transits to the same, and it seems that the conjunction transit is generally extremely productive. transiting jupiter conjunct natal mars, as i alluded to in an earlier tweet, is supposed to be extremely auspicious for athletic pursuits, and it becomes exact on the day of a huge event – a championship. will i win it all? unlikely, given my current standing, but it could be a huge break for me, as well as for the rest of my team.

neptune transits to natal mars represent an awakening of a spiritual awareness, a change in how you process the world, and action taken in relation to this development. well, this one is obvious, given my fairly-recent (i.e. last few years) development of an interest in astrology, and now i am taking action on it, with this blog and in other areas of my life.

so, what will the gathering trifecta conjunct my natal mars bring? i’m hoping (obviously) that it will be auspicious and productive. it could even be transcendent, with Neptune in the mix, and in Aquarius… the planet of illusions and images, the sign of collective consciousness… well, you’ll find out as i find out.
